Dish Model 6000U Receiver Overview

The Model 6000 high definition television receiver lets you enjoy television entertainment in a whole new way. Sharper images, clearer sounds and a brighter picture bring television programming to life right in your living room with a picture quality that is 6 times greater than standard television using a receiver that weighs less than 8 lbs. and is only 3" high, 16" wide and 14" deep. Model 6000U receivers can be used for viewing standard or high definition television programming, and they offer 5 different methods for displaying non-HD 4:3 images on 16:9 HDTV screens.

Model 6000U includes an Enhanced HD Adapter that can receive QPSK or 8PSK HD signals.

An optional 8VSB Tuner Cartridge can also be purchased for the 6000U that allow you to receive local analog and digital off-air broadcasts that can include high-definition programming (off-air antenna required).   (Or check out the new Dish Model 811 HDTV receiver which features an integrated off-air tuner for reception of local digital/HD and analog broadcasts!!!)

• Five methods to display a non-HD 4:3 image on a 16:9 HDTV screen: Normal, Gray bars, Zoom, Stretch, and Partial Zoom. Gray bars help prevent burn-in, the latter three eliminate risk of burn-in.
